Linkert M5F 1936-1939
M5F 1936-1939 Harley E & EL Overhead "Knucklehead" is a CHP (California Highway Patrol) carb. This M5F is built as a 1937, because it has a four-bolt air intake flange, the '4' in the 2-348 on the carb body is hand stamped, and finally the air cleaner cover is secured to the backing plate with 4, 8-32 screws. The M5F came with a High-speed locking screw holding the High-speed needle to a pre-adjusted setting like those used on Linkerts for military use. This carburetor came with a Low-speed needle set screw for the needle & spring (see picture) similar to the venturi locking screw used on the MR series.
